I’m still hammering out the logistics for the website (apparently I need to know coding), but my dear friend Meghan just shared this link with me and I KNEW it had to be the topic of my first ever post.

Dystopian Future Inspired Fashions by Dutch designer Iris van Herpen.

Just LOOK at these creations.  They are so awe-inspiring and, while I admit some of them look a little difficult to maneuver in, I would wear all of them in a heartbeat…

…if I could afford them…

STORY OF MY LIFE.

Ah well, at least we have something amazing to look at while we cry about our lack of $$$ to fund our clothing fantasies.

My take on the pieces:

#1:  This one isn’t too crazy, just an industrial take on the fringe dress (Image by Gareth Cattermole / Getty Images)

#2&3: It’s like angel wings, so ethereal!  I look at this and I seriously hear Ave Maria playing in the back of my mind.  The hard material woven together creates such an interesting juxtaposition of hard and light (Image by Gareth Cattermole / Getty Images)

#4:  Didn’t Lady Gaga wear this? (Image by Benjamin Girette / AP)

#5:  Puffs! (Image by Benjamin Girette / AP)

#6:  I think this one’s my favorite, like waves rolling away from the bodice.  I can just see the silhouette skimming over an invisible skirt (Image by Gareth Cattermole / Getty Images)

#7:  Half android, half human? (Image by Gareth Cattermole / Getty Images)

#8:  I would wear this right now, though I’d be a little afraid of stabbing someone (or myself) (Image by Benjamin Girette / AP)

#9:  Powerful armor for a powerful womyn (Image by Benjamin Girette / AP)

#10:  The future of cocktail dresses (Image by Gareth Cattermole / Getty Images)

#11:  Throwback to Elizabethan ruffles circa 1500s (Image by Gareth Cattermole / Getty Images)

#12:  I don’t know why, but I just imagine Anna Dello Russo (Editor in Chief of Vogue Japan) wearing this (Image by Gareth Cattermole / Getty Images)

#13:  She sells seashells by the seashore (Image by Gareth Cattermole / Getty Images)

#14:  I am Skeletor, hear me roar! (Image by Gareth Cattermole / Getty Images)
